Organic cold pressed jojoba oil, hibiscus, butterfly pea flower, orange peel, lime peel, grapefruit peel, gotu kola, clove, lemon balm, lemon verbena, rosemary, red raspberry leaf, licorice root, squalane, sea buckthorn berry oil, vitamin E
JOJOBA OIL: Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic meaning it won’t clog your pores and it is safe to use on even the most sensitive of skin. It is actually a waxy substance that mimics human sebum. Sebum is produced by the skin’s sebaceous gland and protects the skin from losing moisture. Jojoba oil also contains a large amount of vitamin E, which is a strong antioxidant that helps to protect the skin from aging, reduces inflammation and can increase collagen production. It also has antibacterial properties that help kill fungus and bacteria making it the ideal carrier oil for acne-prone skin.
VITAMIN C (extracted from hibiscus, orange, lime, grapefruit, lemon balm, lemon verbena): Vitamin C is a key ingredient for brightening and toning, and can even reduce the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles.
LICORICE ROOT: Licorice root is believed to "harmonize" the ingredients in a formula. Studies have found that licorice extract has potential skin-lightening effects. These effects are thanks to the compounds liquiritin and isoliquertin, flavonoid containing glycosides which promote skin lightening by decreasing melanin production. Hyperpigmentation or dark spots can be common after an acne breakout, an eczema flare or sunburn. We chose licorice root to use in our vitamin C products to help lighten discoloration or pigmentation. It's also an amazing ingredient to use for dark undereye circles.
SEA BUCKTHORN BERRY OIL: Due to its unique antioxidant and essential fatty acid profile, sea buckthorn berry oil protects the integrity of the skin and promotes skin cell turnover. It has been found that sea buckthorn plant berries carry 10 times more vitamin C than an orange and are the third-highest source of vitamin E among plants.
SQUALANE: Squalane (with an A) is a plant-derived, sustainable version of one of nature’s most effective emollients, squalene (with an E). It is a long-lasting moisturizer that can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduce flakiness and dryness, and it is noncomedogenic, making it ideal for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin. Over time, using squalane in skincare can reduce scars, reverse UV damage, and lighten hyperpigmentation.
