Tallow is rendered beef fat, specifically the leaf fat that encases the organs (also known as beef suet). Our golden tallow is made from the Pettit family's Santa Carota cattle. Their ranch is just outside of Bakersfield, California and the cows are free-range, grass raised and then finished with nutrient dense carrots. The beef suet used in our products containing tallow is from Santa Carota grass-raised, carrot-finished cattle. As a result of their carrot finishing, Santa Carota beef suet has less saturated fat, more moisture, a better scent and a unique texture when compared to traditional grass fed, grass-finished cattle. In addition to the vitamins A, D, E, and K that may be found in grass finished tallow, our Lucky Pearl tallow is also high in B12 and beta-carotene.

Our products do not need to be refrigerated. Tallow and oil-based products are shelf stable for 6-9 months. Water-based facial toners and hair products should be used 2-3 months from date of purchase. We do not use any preservatives, emulsifiers or stabilizers, so it is important that they do not get contaminated with dirty hands or water. Keep your Lucky Pearl products out of direct sunlight and at room temperature or below, and they will stay fresher longer. Shake all oils, serums, and bottled creams vigorously before each use.

Essential oils can cause serious skin irritation and damage. Even if your skin responds well to essential oils right now, using them for an extended period of time could potentially break down your skin barrier and lead to unwanted skin issues in the future. Every ingredient we use is intentionally sourced for its healing capabilities, not fragrance.
